About Marinda du Toit

Marinda's son, Daniel, became a patient of Dr. Cynthia Curry in 2011 after early developmental concerns prompted investigation. Further testing in 2017 led to Daniel's JdVS diagnosis.

With little information available then, Marinda connected with other families through Dr. Curry. She joined the group of parents working to raise awareness of JdVS and create support for families worldwide.

Originally from South Africa, Marinda moved to the United States with her husband in 2005. She holds a master's degree in nursing focused on leadership and administration and works as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse.
